Meet The Blue Cat Orchestra

Formed in Glasgow in early 2026, The Blue Cat Orchestra brings alive the dance band sounds of the 1930s. Our repertoire covers songs by the great bandleaders of the time - Ambrose, Billy Cotton, Jack Hylton, Roy Fox - and swing numbers by the likes of Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman.

Some of the songs are well known, others are deep cuts specially selected by the band, who are keen to share these nuggets with a curious audience.

This is music made for celebration and revelry.

The line-up of the band is:

  • Martin Barnaby - bass

  • Anthony Bowers - vocals

  • Mick Cooke - trumpet, guitar, Novachord

  • David Crawford- piano

  • Dave Donnelly - alto, tenor & baritone sax, clarinet, flute, piccolo

  • Roo Geddes/Masha Zhuravlova - violin

  • Ewan Laing - drums
